Another Impeachment, The Fall of Democracy, and a New Administration

You know, I wonder if anything I write gets through to people, and whether they think seriously about what I'm saying. I mean I know I'm only one person, who is entitled to my own opinion, but how wrong am I? The point of this blog is to get a discussion going about these kinds of things, because, the fact is, the lack of proper conversation is probably (in my opinion) one of the biggest causes of the division that's rocked the United States at its core. Not having a conversation with your friends, family, our state reps and senators, getting in touch with our local government about the decisions they are making and what our opinions are on the matters at hand. We assume that because we chose them to represent our state in local, state, and federal governments, they'll know exactly what we want done and what is affecting us. They won't know, until we get in contact with them to let them know. One decent conversation about the issues with our state reps and officials, and we could have avoided creating such a big political divide. And another issue this political divide has led to is another problem that most people will either ignore or refuse to admit even exists, the creation of violent cultists who blindly follow Donald Trump.

These issues, from where I see it, stem from years, maybe even decades, of people not being able to have their issues listened to by our elected officials. However,my question is, how much of an effort was made by us, the common people, to get our voices heard by the people WE elected to office? Did we just cast our votes, then just automatically assume that the people we chose will automatically know what issues we're facing and how quickly we want it resolved? Or did we try to get in contact with them, contact their offices, send an email, left a voicemail, trying to let them know what we want fixed, and how quickly we want it to be fixed? WE are the ones who voted them in right? So we assume they'll know right off the bat what we're dealing with. That isn't the case though.

Like us, they're human too. They won't know what to do unless we try our hardest to have a conversation with them. We're at the end of Trump's Administration, and on January 20,2021, we will swear in Joseph R. Biden as the 46th President of the United States. Just cause he's been voted in, do not assume he knows every single issue we want resolved. He'll probably start with the biggest issue we're facing right now, The COVID-19 Pandemic. He'd put his attention towards this pandemic that he has inherited from Donald Trump, and try to work through the issues that has been caused. Not only do we need to give him time to handle these issues, we need to make sure we hold him accountable if we, as the public, feel that he has made an error. We can't judge him on past mistakes, just like how we can't judge a book by its cover. Yes, both Joseph R. Biden and Kamala Harris have made very complicated decisions in their respective careers in the past, but what matters most, is recognizing their intent and what they really desire for the future of this country. What needs to be recognized, is the difference between why they want to lead this country for the next 4 years and why Donald Trump wants to lead this country over the next 4 years. They aren't perfect, but if we want them to be successful, we need to hold them accountable where they err, and put our trust in them for the long run. No body is perfect, but the best way to move forward, is to learn from the mistakes of our past, and be both diligent and patient as well.
